Elkader, State Highway 13 which runs North and South,
Highway 128 that comes in from the East and Highway 56 which comes into
Elkader from the West. There are also two county paved roads that
connect Elkader with the other surrounding communities.

excellent educational facilities including the main office of the
Keystone Area Education Agency.
Elkader also has many recreational activities in and around the
community and has great historical presence with many of the
old building architecture from the late 1800s and other historical

Elkader is a
beautiful little northeast Iowa town nestled in a rolling valley aside
of the Turkey River in Clayton County. The last glaciers of the Ice Age
didn't flatten the landscape so the region is hilly with
woodlands and rich farmland.
